How do you get into Nossal High School for Year 10?
Most students join Nossal High School at Year 9 through the ACER selective entry exam. What is specific to Nossal
Nossal High School is co-educational, in Victoria. Year 9 (ACER) entry is the main intake. Year 10 and Year 11 entry is an Edutest exam for a vacancy waiting list. The school fills those places only when one opens. A strong result puts a student on the school's interview list. It is not an offer. An interview with the Principal happens only if a vacancy appears. John Monash Science School is a different Edutest exam. Its Year 10 papers include Science Reasoning, Science Interest and Communication, and Science Analysis and Reporting. It does not set Reading Comprehension or Written Expression.
Year 10 and Year 11 entry use the same five papers. Format and topic lists are on the Victorian selective exam guide.

How to run a practice week
- One timed mathematics or numerical-reasoning set, then review every miss. Without an error log, students repeat the same mistakes at speed.
- One verbal-reasoning or reading set, timed. Untimed runs hide the pressure of 60 verbal questions in 30 minutes.
- One creative or persuasive piece: 5 minutes to plan, 30 to write.
- A full five-paper mock only after the section times are familiar.
Month-by-month runway stays on the exam guide and the Edutest exam guide. This page is the drills.
